Spiritual Help
The most important decision anyone can make in their life is the decision to follow Jesus Christ. God loves you, and he wants you to have peace, an abundant and eternal life. This is based on scripture.
How do I receive Christ?
-
Admit that you're a sinner.
-
Repent (turn away) of your sins.
-
Believe in Jesus Christ (that he died for us all on the cross, and rose from the grave.)
-
Ask Jesus into your heart.
"Lord I know that I am a sinner. I believe that you died on the cross for all mankind. I want you to come into my heart and be my Lord and savior."
What now?
Read your bible. The "Word" (the bible) is sharper than any double edged sword. Yes it's biblical! Get into it. Before reading, ask God to open up your mind (through prayer) and help you to understand what you read. He will help you! Read a verse, think it over and what it means to you. It is also a good idea to try to memorize a bible verse daily. Look up some wonderful old stories you may remember. There are many great bible studies available at christian book stores. We also have a bible study here on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 P.M.
Take the time to pray. Pray every time it "pops" into your head. Pray for anyone who comes to mind. Pray for and about everything. Start a prayer journal. Write down your prayers and date them. Go through it regularly. You will be amazed how quickly they start being answered! We believe in the power of prayer and meet on Sunday evenings at 5:00 P.M. for F.I.R.E. (Fervent Intercession for Restoration Everywhere), Men's Prayer is Saturday mornings at 8:00 A.M. here also.
Go to church. It is biblical that we are to praise and worship the Lord together. Church is also our opportunity to build each other up. And when you feel your worst and you just don't want to get up and go, you will so glad that you recharged for the week. God will bless you and your time spent in His house.
And get your armor on! You have to put on the armor of God. Satan attacks man when man, especially when we try to live right. But we have powerful tools that God has given us. We have the armor of God! Learn what this means. It is powerful!
